Save-the-Redwoods League

The Save-the-Redwoods League has been instrumental in the acquisition of lands for California's redwood parks, including Humboldt Redwoods. The first grove dedicated here was the Bolling Grove on August 5, 1921. There are several programs which enable donors to name a redwood grove or individual tree after someone. The Memorial Grove program allows you to name an entire grove. (For a list of Memorial Groves in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, see below.) Individual trees can be purchased in the Honor Groves. Also, donors can contribute to the reforestation fund. Funds are used to replant newly acquired areas in the park with redwoods. The League is still active in acquiring lands for parks.
