Travel Directions to Humboldt Redwoods State Park


Humboldt Redwoods State Park is located in Humboldt County in northern California.


The park may be accessed from Highway 101. The scenic alternate route, the Avenue of the Giants, parallels Highway 101 for 32 miles and is completely encompassed by the park. The north end of the Avenue may be reached by taking the Jordan Road exit on Highway 101. The south end of the Avenue may be reached by taking the Phillipsville exit on Highway 101. An Auto Tour explains some of the natural features you will encounter as you drive the Avenue of the Giants. Brochures are available at either end of the Avenue, or at the Visitor Center.


To reach the Visitor Center from the south:


Take Highway 101 north to the Myers Flat exit. Take the Myers Flat exit and turn north (right) onto the Avenue of the Giants. Drive four miles north to reach Park Headquarters, the Visitor Center and Burlington Campground.


To reach the Visitor Center from the north:


Take Highway 101 south to the Weott exit. Take the Weott exit and turn right (west) onto Newton Road. Follow Newton Road through town until it ends at the Avenue of the Giants. Turn left (south) onto the Avenue of the Giants and drive two miles to Burlington Campground, the Visitor Center and Park Headquarters.
